Cassie leapt at the opportunity to join Leon in Toronto for the All Star game. It was easy enough for her to find a substitute to teach her classes for the week and as usual, Naomi and the staff at Blue Acres were more than happy to care and ride for Charm, Eddie and Willow.
The blonde found herself at the airport, getting Wes to drop her off so she could see him one more time before she left. She checked herself in, preparing for the seven hour flight across the pond to her home country. Ontario wasn't somewhere she had gone often as a child, but it would be nice to be back on home soil. She checked her watch, seeing she had a bit of time before her flight left. Cassie headed through security and decided to hunker down at her gate. She easily killed the time - listening to music as she waited. Within thirty minutes, the announcement was made that it was time to board. She showed the airport employee her passport and ticket before wheeling her carryon behind her. The flight itself flew by - it was packed, which meant that she had people on either side of her. She spent the time reading, watching movies and was also able to sleep.
As the plane touched the tarmac, she woke up - missing the announcement completely. The woman turned on her phone as soon as she landed, knowing Leon would already have landed by the time she got there. Cassie unbuckled her seatbelt and got up, grabbing her purse and carry-on before heading off of the plane. She knew the Toronto airport very well by now - as it was where she often connected from. She sent a text to Leon as she waited at the baggage carousel, knowing he would have to pick up his hockey bag.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone familiar. A bright smile came to her face when she realized who it was, quickly making her way over to him and gave him a tap on the shoulder.
It was kinda funny to Leon Jager that he was the one waiting at the airport, normally it was the other way around with him arriving and his long time girlfriend, Cassandra McLellan, was picking him up. But not today, as she was flying to Toronto to watch him in the All Star Games. He had already settled into the Maple City, having mapped out his plans outside of the games. While it was no foreign land to him, there tended to be just enough time in-between visits for the dust to settle and for Leon needing to reacquaint himself. He also forgot how fucking monstrous the arrivals section of Toronto Airport was, it felt like a city in itself even though it was simply a baggage terminal.
He knew it was miracle that they had managed to work out a time where both of their flights would arrive almost at the same time. Hopefully, she'd make it through customs fairly quickly. He already had his bags in tow, he had even ducked into a bathroom to change out of the suit and tie and traded for sweats, a hoodie, and a baseball cap. Leon knew it wasn't the greatest design, Canadians could spot a hockey player from a mile away, but it gave him some cover. The time for autographs and pictures were over, he just wanted to blend into the crowd and go unnoticed.
Apparently someone saw through it though, as he felt a tap on his shoulder. Leon braced himself, expecting the worst as he turned around and found himself pleasantly surprised, "Cassie," he said with a smile now, leaning in to greet her with a kiss on the lips, uncaring about if it was a show for strangers, before he pulled back, "I missed you as always. How did you see through my disguise?"

Cassie felt Leon tense up under her touch - leaving her wondering if something had bothered him earlier in the day. She dropped her arm to her side as she watched him turn around - the smile staying on her face as he said her name. "Ah my dear, I could recognize you from anywhere. Did you change or something?" She wondered if he did, knowing how brutal some of the fans could be. Thankfully though, Leon wasn't the Maple Leaf's superstar - he had a bit more relief with the fans due to that one.
"Did you fly okay? Connor get on your nerves yet?" She was slightly jealous that he only had a four and a half hour flight from Edmonton, but that was nothing compared to having to fly back home to Prince Albert. It was a grueling 10 hour flight, excluding the drive from Saskatoon. "Do you have your luggage or shall we get going?" She kissed him in return, regrettably letting go afterwards. Cassie gave him a look, noticing that he was looking quite tired - wondering how much sleep he was actually getting.
A chuckle escaped Leon at her words, "True. You are my girlfriend." Besides, she knew what to look for. Height. Built. That sometimes awkward slouch. It's not they hadn't lived with each other before, "I did. Got off the plane in the suit, did the swagger walk to the terminal, and then I ducked away to change. No one's hassled me, but now my time is with you, not the fans." And Leon liked to think that when he was in obvious civilian clothes, that made it clear that his time was his. That didn't mean that the man didn't love his fans, he appreciated them, but Leon also liked respected boundaries, and time with Cassie was one of them.
Her question about Connor couldn't help but to prompt a smile, "He did - but I got back at him. I'm sure he'll prod me again at some point, but that doesn't matter right now." Hazel eyes looked over his girlfriend now, even after her long flight, she somehow still looked beautiful, "Hope Heathrow didn't batter you too much." That was one airport Leon always got grumpy with - mainly because of the sheer size and navigation of it. Hopefully his kiss made up for it, and honestly, it looked like it did as her face lit up like sunshine, "My bags and gear are taken care of - I'll help you with yours if you have any. Then we'll book it over to the airport and have some fun, yeah?"
He gently grabbed her hand now, her dainty hand fitting neatly into his large plams, and began to walk, "Was work able to deal with you coming out here given the school year isn't over?" And quite frankly, he was certain her barn never got any rest or breaks.
